Maintenance of Hard Floor Areas

Hard floors can be concrete, painted concrete, vinyl, safety vinyl, ceramic tiles, terracotta tiles, polished concrete, linoleum, and wooden flooring. We exclude natural stone from this list as these are dealt with separately.

We can clean any of these flooring types and re-polish if required.

Grouting can be removed and replaced and sealed to prevent it getting dirty in the future although this is a

time consuming process and therefore can be quite an expensive process .... but cheaper than having a whole new flooring put down!

A common area for our cleaners to work in is factory and garage floors which require to be de-greased. This is a relatively straight forward clean for us to accomplish. Although if the oil has been on the concrete for some time then it will have worked its way deep into the concrete and all we can do is diminish the staining and make the surface available for successful painting or taping.

A practice which is becoming less common now but our cleaners are still able to do is the stripping and sealing of floors. The old polish is stripped away leaving a clean surface which is then re-polished using emulsion polish which is either glossy, egg shell or matt. All finishes are non slip when completed. This is an excellent method of protecting the underlying floor material from scratching and scuffing and can be maintained for about 1 year, depending upon the wear, by periodic buffing.
