A little bit about Luton:  Luton is home to one of England's most major airports, as well as the headquarters of Vauxhall Motors and Luton Town Football Club amongst others.  Luton underwent huge growth in the 1800s, with it's first gas supply in 1834 and it's town hall opening in 1847, Luton's newspaper began publication in 1854, but the town was well overdue a railway station that finally arrived in 1858.

Luton was made a borough in 1876, and in 1885 it was resolved at the Town Hall that a 'Luton Town Club be formed' and so the first professional football club in the south of England was founded.   Luton has a long history of Hat making as well as Watermills.  Hat making began in the 17th century and by the 18th century, the industry dominated the town.  Some of the old hat factories are still visible today.  The main shopping areas of Luton are based around the old Arndale Centre (now The Mall Arndale), and the town has a wide variety of world food restaurants as well as bars and clubs.
